Sugar Skull – Death Mask for Halloween

The sugar skull mask isn’t new to the Halloween scene but just a few people know the real story behind it. Also known as the Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) it is a festival to commemorate the deceased.

Today is the day, Halloween has just arrived. Everyone has a busy schedule for tonight visiting Halloween parties, doing a pub tour with friends or just lazing on your couch watching your favourite horror movies. When it comes to the decision of Halloween outfits, I like to give my creativity free rein. I got a lot ideas that I would love to try, but when trying to make them it becomes always a little tricky situation. Every year around Halloween I want to get some new and crazy makeups done. This year I decided for a sugar skull mask and did a makeup tutorial for it. If you’re still asking yourself what you are going to wear for Halloween this year, this makeup tutorial might be the right thing for you. Using the right “ingredients” combined with some video instruction will help you getting ready until midnight.

Sugar Skull – Bright and Colourful

The sugar skull mask isn’t new to the Halloween scene but just a few people know the real story behind it. Also known as the Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) it is a festival to commemorate the deceased. The event takes part from the 31st of October until the 2nd of November. Basically the sugar skull is a bright and colourful miniature of a skull that is  made of sugar. They are used to array burial sites. The sugar skull mask that is part of Halloween, is the result of a mexican rite.
