Being just the second week in my first job as a PR assistant, I was happy to join the JA PR jewellery team for their press day this Thursday taking place at the Darren Baker Gallery in Charlotte Street.
The Jewellery Showroom
Darren Baker Gallery is located in the heart of London; Fitzrovia. Representing a contemporary art space it aims to break down the barrier between artist and the jewellery collector. A showroom with a lot to offer besides art work was taken up with elegant jewellery pieces, each of them individually designed and with powerful stories behind. Run by Amy Thomas and Jessica Miller, JA PR represents and supports jewellery makers in the UK and the U.S. and includes well-known names in the fashion industry, such as Ruth Tomlinson, Rachel Jackson, Ruifier, Halo & Co and many more.
Part of this exciting press day were not only the deliciously made Freakshakes by Molly Bakes, which I sadly didn’t have the chance to try but also WAH nails, who provided visitors with a lovely mini manicure for in between. Although I missed those deadly calorific sugar bombs, I couldn’t deny the JAPR mini muffins. Surrounded by jewellery and a lovely team, I was happy to have had a successful press day. Although I don’t know yet what ‘working in PR’ really means, my ambitions are high and I can’t wait to grow into the role of a PR assistant.
